Ebike trailer part 3: Some paint and a little testing.

I did a quick paint job, added a basket, covered the electronics with some cardboard, and sorted out a prototype trailer hitch. While out for some quick tests (and lunch) I noticed the top speed of the trailer is only about 1mph more than the bike, but when you take off using both motors it really has some kick!

    This the only video I could find that addresses my needs. About 7 years ago I purchased a folding shopping cart with bike wheels. I had no bike at the time. Had to travel 2 miles over gravel, dirt, pavement with up climbs and down hill along with very windy days. I carried apox 168 pounds ( dog cat human food home and was impressed. Well someone else was because they stole it. Have not found sense except a foreign order with high shipping and guess it you get it Industrial sales site. So I'm trying to make my own. You see our busses in our state really don't allow carts. They can't be in isle , they can't be just parked in open section with out a brake or tie down. I needed something I could take by bike, take into stores ( theft these days. ( Crazy thing I learned is most shopping centers will not have bike parking with camera security. ( They don't want to take responsibility of security for your bike). Maybe that's changed by now. But from bike into store out to bike bike to bus break down cart by wheels if needed and a basket on the window seat then off bus back to biking. When I go camping and want to take light gear fishing, plus runs to store I don't have to worry of theft. Which is an issue by one or 2 people camping. Thanks again. Sure there is burley mostly a city friend and a bit heavy.

    It's an interesting tool. I've been playing with the idea of building one myself as an emergence backup way to charge my DIY lead acid power storage setup (Currently consisting of 32x scrounged second hand 12A server UPS batteries in 4 large stackable tool boxes, with multiple fuses, sockets, and switches, a LOT of 10 and 8 gauge wiring, and 3 1500W inverters...... Sounds "Ghetto" as hell, but a lot of research went into making sure everything was wired to prevent uneven charging/discharging, and if a battery dies, the rest of them couldn't cook it trying to equalise the voltage). The thing I'm wondering is though, is there anything in the alternator that prevents your battery from being overcharged, or would the car have had something to modulate the field coils and regulate the alternators output ?

    Just because the main battery has a charging port, that doesn't mean you can't back feed power through the main line. The charging line goes through the BMS so the individual cells can be balanced. The main line doesn't go through the BMS. Charging through the main line is done if the cells get so low the BMS turns off; one does this to get the BMS to wake up.

    The Dell T3610 I have has been my workstation for years. Recently I bought a xeon E5-2697V2 for 30€ on Aliexpress together with a 500Gb NVMe SSD for 24€ and a 16x PCIe card for the SSD (which the Bios didn’t see) and added another 16Gb RAM. • @DutchBigEd
      @DutchBigEd 10 місяців тому

      @@ThriftStoreHacker when I got my T3610 for work, the first thing the IT guys did was removing part of the cover so a full size GPU would fit when the lid was closed. Nowadays I have the lid removed for better cooling. And was it worth it what I did? Well, when gaming (Insurgency: Sandstorm) I had the video fixed at 35fps while after the “upgrade” as I mentioned above, I can game at high settings and still have about 50-60fps. Or in other words: the upgrade saved me from buying a new GPU. So yes, it was worth it!

      Recently I cut out part of the lid. My gpu (RX480 8G) does fit under the cover, but the airflow was very bad caused by the close proximity of the cover to the top of the gpu.
